Cons: Granite will need to be resealed each year and can only be repaired by professionals. Some oils and stains can be absorbed into material. Granite will require frequent wipe-downs if it is a dark surface.
GlassPros: Surface is easy to clean and is very durable. Glass is available in a wide variety of colors and can be molded to fit whatever needs.
Cons: Glass can be scratched.

There are many other choices, such as various brands containing quartz, and solid surfaces, that have their own pros and cons. Some have a percentage of partially recycled materials in them also. Price often varies by contractor or supplier for the same or similar items, sometimes depending on how much of that item they order on a recurring basis. And of course, the one thing we do know, is an updated countertop in kitchen or bath will increase the chances of a sale.
